Enhance is your hosting control panel: this is where you manage your websites, email addresses, databases, domains and backups. This guide shows you what is on each screen, so you know where to start. The steps for each task are in the guides linked below.
What you'll achieve
- find your way around Enhance from day one;
- know what is on “Home”, on “Websites”, on a website's page and under “Emails”;
- quickly find a feature, even if you don't know where it is.
Before you start
- Enhance opens at https://server.nbt-host.com. Log in with the email address from your order and your Enhance password (see How to log in to Enhance and Webmail).
- We use the English names, exactly as they appear on screen. The panel opens in your browser language; if it shows another language, switch it to English from the account menu, top right: “My account” » “Language”.
- Coming from cPanel? The table of equivalents is in Enhance instead of cPanel: where to find everything.
The steps
1. The left menu
It is the same on every screen:
- “Search”, the first row: type the name of a feature, for example “backup”, “FTP” or “PHP”, and go straight to it. It is the fastest route when you don't know where something is.
- “Home”: your account's start page.
- “Websites”: the list of your websites. This is where you will spend most of your time.
- “Emails”: all the email addresses in the account, from all domains, in a single list.
- “Users”: the people who have access to your account, if you have invited anyone (see Enhance access for other people).
- “Website importer”: bring over an entire cPanel account from a full copy (see Moving a cPanel account with the Enhance importer).
2. Home
On “Home” you see at a glance:
- the “Package subscriptions” card: your plan and how much of it you have used (disk space, websites, email addresses, databases). Details in How much space you use and what takes it up;
- the websites in the account;
- “Activity log”: the latest actions taken in the account, with their time. It helps you see who changed something and when.
3. Websites and a website's page
- Click “Websites”. You see the list of websites, each with its main domain.
- Click the domain. The website's page opens, with tabs in the top bar.
- On a narrower screen, the tabs that don't fit are in the “Advanced” menu, at the end of the row.
What is on each tab:
| Tab | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Overview | the website's first page: the IP address, the space used, the Quick links shortcuts (Webmail, downloading a backup, uploading a backup) |
| Files | File manager: upload, edit, extract and delete files |
| Databases | MySQL databases and their users, import and export |
| Emails | the email addresses on this website's domains |
| Domains | the main domain, subdomains and aliases, the DNS zone, DKIM and mail routing |
| Apps | WordPress: installation, updates, plugins, users |
| Backups | daily backups, the backup you make yourself, and restoring |
| Security | SSL certificates and Force https |
| Developer tools | the PHP version, the php.ini editor, the PHP error log and scheduled tasks (cron) |
| Redirects | 301 and 302 redirects |
| FTP | the website's FTP accounts |
Guides for each tab: Uploading a website with File Manager, Creating a MySQL database and user, How to create an email account in Enhance, Subdomains and additional domains in Enhance, DNS zone editor: A, CNAME, MX and TXT, Installing WordPress from Enhance, Backup and restore in Enhance, The free SSL certificate (Let's Encrypt), PHP version and PHP settings, Cron jobs: scheduled tasks in Enhance, 301 and 302 redirects in Enhance and Encrypted FTP (FTPS) with FileZilla: account and connection details.
On “Overview”, as long as the domain doesn't point to our server yet, a warning appears that starts with “To connect your domains(s)”. It disappears by itself once you change the nameservers (see How to point your domain to NBT Host).
4. Emails
“Emails” in the left menu opens the “Email accounts” list. For each address you see how much space it takes (“Mailbox usage”) and the DKIM and SPF status. “Add account” creates a new address, and “Manage” next to an address opens its settings: the password, the space, forwarding, the auto-reply, the spam filter and the settings for apps (see How to create an email account in Enhance).
5. Your account
The account icon, top right, opens the menu with:
- “My account”: your Enhance password, two-factor authentication, the panel language and connected devices (see Your Enhance password and two-factor authentication);
- “Logout”: signing out of the panel.
For security reasons, Enhance ends the session by itself after a period of inactivity.
If something doesn't work
- I can't find a tab. Look in the “Advanced” menu, at the end of the row of tabs, or type its name in “Search”.
- I don't see “Users” or “Website importer” in the menu. They are visible to the account owner (and to anyone with the “Super Admin” role). If you logged in with a collaborator invitation, you only have access to the websites shared with you.
- The panel is in another language and the names don't match the guides. Switch to English from “My account” » “Language”.
- A button is grayed out. Usually you have reached a plan limit (for example the number of websites or addresses). Look on “Home”, under “Package subscriptions”.
