Extensions differ only in price. Everything else is the same for any of them.
The domain holder is you or your company, not NBT Host. The domain is yours and you can transfer it to another registrar.
The registrant's details are passed to the registrar and to the extension's registry, as stated in the Privacy Policy.
An ICANN-accredited registrar from the Netherlands and a ROTLD partner. We register the domain after the payment is confirmed; for .ro, the registry is ROTLD.
We take care of renewal, year after year, until you tell us to stop.
Romania's extension is run by the ROTLD registry. We register it through Openprovider, an ROTLD partner, in your name or your company's name.
The registrant's details: full name or company name and Tax ID (CUI), address, an email and a phone number. For the email, pick an address you will always have: the registry's messages go there. A .ro needs no email confirmation, unlike the one ICANN requires for .com.
As an individual, you tick the request for immediate registration when you order, because a registered domain cannot be returned. Companies and sole traders buying for their business do not need it.
Not with an EPP code: on rotld.ro you choose “Transfer la alt registrar” (transfer to another registrar), and the authorization key goes to the registrant's email. You message us on WhatsApp, we confirm the price, and after payment we complete the transfer. The steps are in the transfer guide.
Hosting does not require a transfer: for a .ro, you change the nameservers directly at ROTLD to ns1.nbt-host.ro and ns2.nbt-host.ro, and the domain points to us. See the nameserver guide.

Search for a .ro domainA transfer moves it from your current registrar to Openprovider, through NBT Host. The holder stays the same.
In your account with your current registrar, remove the transfer lock, if it's on.
The authorization code is also provided by your current registrar. It's the domain's password: give it only to whoever is doing the transfer.

After the payment is confirmed, we submit the request through Openprovider, with your code, and keep you updated until the domain arrives with us.
You don't have to move it. In your account with your current registrar, change the nameservers to the ones below, and the domain points to NBT Host hosting. The change propagates within a few hours, sometimes up to 48 hours.

Domains registered through NBT Host get these nameservers from the start, and we take care of the DNS settings.
The DENIC registry has its own nameserver rules, which ns1 and ns2.nbt-host.ro don't meet yet. For now, a .de works with its DNS at another provider, and we tell you what to set there.
Yes. When you press “Search”, we ask the registry right away and tell you whether the name is free or already registered, together with the price of the extension. If the registry does not respond, we check before registering.
Yes. On the order page, uncheck hosting and fill in only the domain.
For .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and the other generic extensions, yes: after registration, the registrant receives an email with a link to confirm their contact details, as ICANN rules require. If it isn't clicked within 15 days, the domain is suspended until confirmation. This doesn't apply to .ro.
A .com, .net, .org, .info or .biz left to expire can still be recovered for a while, but restoring it costs more than renewing; we tell you the price beforehand. We handle the yearly renewal precisely so you never get there.
Yes. Changing the holder of a .ro costs €10 and extends the domain by 12 months.

The SSL certificate comes with hosting, not with the domain. If the domain is hosted with us, it gets a free Let's Encrypt certificate, for the domain and for www, issued and renewed automatically. How to check that it has one is in the free SSL certificate guide.
€10 a year to register and the same €10 a year to renew, final price: NBT X SOLUTIONS SRL is not registered for VAT. We confirm the price of a .ro transfer on request. Prices for the other extensions are in the table.
Once the payment is confirmed, we check availability, register the domain in your name and confirm on WhatsApp or by email. It then takes a few hours until the new domain is visible everywhere on the internet.
For .com and the other international extensions, the old registrar may ask you by email to approve the move; if you do nothing, it is usually approved automatically within 5 days. A transfer is possible at least 60 days after registration, the last transfer or the last change of registrant. For a .ro, once you give us the ROTLD key, we complete the transfer and let you know when it is done.
