NBT Host hosting — web, WordPress, cloud and Bulk — comes with the Enhance control panel, not cPanel. If you've worked in cPanel for years, almost everything you did there exists here too, it's just organized differently: in cPanel you had one long page of icons for the whole account, while in Enhance you start from the website and find its tools in tabs.
What you'll achieve
- you'll find the tools you used in cPanel in Enhance right away;
- you'll know what's different: logging in, working per website, what isn't available on the hosting plans;
- you'll know how to bring your website and emails over from a cPanel account.
Before you start
- Enhance opens at https://server.nbt-host.com. You log in with the email address you ordered with and its password, not with a username as in cPanel. The steps are in How to log in to Enhance and Webmail.
- The cPanel addresses with ports (
:2083for the panel,:2096for Webmail) don't exist with us. Webmail is at https://mail.nbt-host.com.
We use the English names from the Enhance interface, exactly as they appear on screen. The panel opens in your browser's language. If it opens in another language, switch it to English from the account menu, top right: “My account” » “Language”.
How Enhance is laid out
- The left-hand menu. The first item is “Search”: type the name of a feature, for example “backup” or “FTP”, and you go straight to it. Below it are “Home”, “Websites” and “Emails”.
- “Home” shows your plan and how much of it you've used, in the “Package subscriptions” card: disk space, websites, email addresses, databases.
- “Websites” is where you'll spend most of your time. Click the domain and the website page opens, with tabs for files, databases, emails, domains, backups and the rest. On a narrower screen, the tabs that don't fit are in the “Advanced” menu at the end of the row.
- “Emails” gathers all the email addresses in the account, across all domains, in a single list.

What's different from cPanel
- Each website has its own settings. A new website in the same account (“Add website”) has its own files, PHP and backups. You choose the PHP version per website: 8.2, 8.3 or 8.4; the default is 8.3.
- No SSH and no Terminal on the hosting plans. You work from Enhance and over encrypted FTP (FTPS); cron jobs work without SSH too.
- phpMyAdmin isn't available for now. You create, import and export databases from the “Databases” tab. If you need to edit a row in a database by hand, write to us.
- WordPress is installed with WordPress toolkit, the WordPress tool in Enhance, not with WP Toolkit or Softaculous. From it you update WordPress and plugins, turn on automatic updates and open the WordPress dashboard without typing your password. If you prefer, we'll do the installation for you, free of charge.
- The spam filter is Rspamd, not SpamAssassin. Each address has three thresholds: “Spambox”, “Greylist” and “Reject”.
- Sending limit: at most 200 emails per hour from each address, plus a separate 200 per hour for messages sent from each website's code (forms, orders).
- We make backups for you, daily. In the “Backups” tab you'll see them with the type “Automatic”, and you can restore a version from the last 7 days yourself, free of charge.
Coming from a cPanel account? Here's how to bring your website over
We move it for you, free of charge, once, at the start of your contract, for the websites included in the plan you chose — the conditions are on the Free migration page. What we need from you:
- In your old cPanel, open Backup (under Files) and click Download a Full Account Backup. Under Backup Destination, choose Home Directory and click Generate Backup.
- When it's ready, it appears in the list of backups on the same page. Tell us where to find it, for example through a download link. From this backup we move your email addresses and their messages along with the website.
- If you can't make the backup, give us temporary access to the old cPanel, through a user created just for the migration or through delegated access, if your current provider offers it.
- We move everything, check the website on the new server, and only then tell you to change the nameservers (see How to point your domain to NBT Host). Until then, the old website stays online.
Don't send us your cPanel password over WhatsApp or email. Just tell us where the website is hosted now and we'll explain how to give us access safely. After the migration, delete the user you created for us.
You can also move a WordPress website yourself, with its files and database: the steps are in Moving a WordPress website from another host.
Still want cPanel?
NBT Host hosting plans — web, WordPress, cloud and Bulk — come with Enhance only. If you really need cPanel, you can have it on a VPS server: the cPanel license is added when you order, as a paid option, but installing and managing the panel is up to you.
If something doesn't work
- You can't find a feature. Type its name in “Search”, the first item in the left-hand menu.
- A website tab is missing from the bar. On a narrower screen, the tabs that don't fit are in the “Advanced” menu.
- You can't log in. Enter the email address you ordered with, not your cPanel username, at https://server.nbt-host.com, without a port. Details in How to log in to Enhance and Webmail.
- The migrated website shows a 500 error. It often comes from the old
.htaccess: a “cPanel-generated” block or anAddHandlerfor a PHP version of the old host. See Uploading a website with File Manager, under “If something doesn't work”.
