When someone works on your website (a developer, an agency, a colleague), don't give them your Enhance password. Invite them as a separate user: they log in with their own address and password, see only what you allow, and you remove their access with one click when they're done. You can then see in the “Activity log” what each person did.

What you'll achieve

  • invite someone to your hosting account;
  • choose what they can do: the whole account or just one website;
  • remove their access when it's no longer needed.

Before you start

  • Invitations can only be sent by the account owner and by users with the “Super Admin” role.
  • You need the person's name and email address. That's where they receive the invitation, and it's what they'll use to log in to Enhance.
  • Log in to Enhance at https://server.nbt-host.com. We use the English names, exactly as they appear on screen.

The roles

RoleWhat they can do
Super Admineverything you can do in the account: all websites, emails and users; they cannot delete the owner
Collaboratoronly the website or websites you give them; they don't see the rest of the account or the activity log

For a developer working on a single website, choose “Collaborator”. The role only appears in the list once you have at least one website in the account.

The steps

Send the invitation

  1. In the left menu, click “Users”.
  2. Click “Invite users”.
  3. Fill in “Full name” and “Email address”.
  4. Choose how to send the invitation:
    • “Email”: the person receives an email with the sign-up link;
    • “Link”: you get the link and send it to them however you like.
  5. Under “Permission”, choose the role. For “Collaborator”, check the website or websites they have access to.
  6. Click “Invite”.

You're taken back to the “Users” page. Until they accept the invitation, the person appears with an orange clock icon. The invitation expires after 10 days; if they haven't used it, send another one.

What the invited person does

  1. They open the link in the invitation and choose a password.
  2. They log in at https://server.nbt-host.com with their email address and the password they chose.
  3. We recommend that they turn on two-factor authentication from “My account” (see Enhance password and two-factor authentication).

Remove access

  1. “Users”, find the person and click “…” on their row.
  2. Choose “Delete” and confirm with “Delete”.

Access stops immediately. If the person also had other login details (an FTP account, an email address, a WordPress or database user), change those passwords or delete them separately: removing the person from “Users” doesn't affect them.

Files only, or WordPress only

Not every collaboration needs access to Enhance:

If something doesn't work

  • The person didn't receive the invitation. Ask them to check their Spam folder. Otherwise, delete the invitation and send it again with the “Link” method, so you can give them the link yourself.
  • An error says the address already exists. The address is already used for an Enhance account on our server, for example for their own hosting. Use another address of theirs, or write to us.
  • I don't see “Users” in the menu. You logged in with collaborator access. Only the owner and Super Admins can invite people.
  • I want to give them access to the NBT Account too (invoices, card). The NBT Account has no separate users: only someone with access to the email address used for the order can log in.
