Renewals are charged to the card saved when you ordered. When the card expires, you lose it or you want to pay with a different one, you change it yourself in the Stripe payment portal, opened from your NBT Account. We don't see or store your card details: Stripe holds them.
What you'll achieve
- add a new card to your subscriptions, before the next payment;
- delete the old card;
- change your subscription email address, from the same place.
Before you start
- Have the new card and your phone at hand: your bank may ask you to confirm the card in its app.
- Never send us your card details by WhatsApp, email or phone. We don't need them, and we will never ask you for them.
The steps
- Log in to your NBT Account at nbt-host.com/cont with the link you received by email (see NBT Account: how to log in and what you'll find).
- Open the Invoices tab and click “Card, invoices and cancellation”. The Stripe payment portal opens in the same tab.
- In the portal, go to the payment methods section and add the new card: the number, the expiry date and the code on the back. If your bank asks, confirm in its app.
- Make the new card the default (the payment method used for subscriptions), if the portal hasn't done so automatically.
- If you want, delete the old card from the same list.
- Go back to your NBT Account using the return link in the portal.
The portal opens in your browser language, so the button names may be in English or in another language. If you have several groups of services, each one has its own “Card and invoices” button on the Invoices tab: change the card in each portal separately.
You have an outstanding payment
If a renewal didn't go through, “Due now” appears on the Invoices tab. Click “Pay now” and pay with the new card on the Stripe invoice page. Then add the new card to the subscription as well, as above, so the next renewal goes through on its own (see Automatic renewal and declined payments).
Change your subscription email address
In the portal, you can also change the email address and the billing address of your customer profile. The next time you log in to your NBT Account, use the new address: the login link is sent to it.
If something doesn't work
- The new card is declined. Check the details and whether your bank allows online and recurring payments. Some virtual or single-use cards don't work for subscriptions. Try another card or call your bank.
- I can't find the “Card, invoices and cancellation” button. The service is free or was paid some other way than by card on the website. Write to us.
- I changed the card, but the outstanding payment is still there. Changing the card doesn't pay the outstanding amount by itself. Click “Pay now” on the Invoices tab.
- I no longer receive the login link after changing my address. At login, enter the new address, the one from the portal.
