The control panel is where you manage your hosting without having to write to someone for every small thing. At NBT Host, the panel is Enhance. If you've worked in cPanel before, you'll find the same tools, arranged a little differently.
In short
- You log in at
server.nbt-host.comwith the email address you used when you ordered. - In Enhance, you start from the website: you pick the website, then find its tools in tabs.
- From the panel you handle these yourself: email addresses, databases, the PHP version, the SSL certificate, the DNS zone, backup and restore, cron jobs and WordPress installation.
- Webmail is separate, at
mail.nbt-host.com, with the email address and its own password.
How to log in
Your login details arrive by email after activation. The panel address is server.nbt-host.com, and the username is the email address used for the order, not a separate username. After your first login, it's worth turning on two-factor authentication. The steps, including what to do if you can't log in, are in the guide how to log in to Enhance and Webmail.
What you'll find in the panel
Websites
Each website has its own page, with its domains, files, PHP, SSL certificate and backups. From here you add subdomains or a new website and upload files with File Manager or over encrypted FTP.
You create addresses on your domain, change passwords, and set up forwarding, autoresponders and the spam filter. The first step is in the guide creating an email account on your domain. We've written about why an address on your domain is worth it, rather than a Gmail one, in email on your domain or Gmail.
Databases and PHP
You create MySQL databases and their users (the guide), choose the PHP version for each website — 8.2, 8.3 or 8.4 — and change settings such as memory_limit (the guide).
WordPress
The Enhance WordPress manager installs WordPress in a few minutes and helps you with updates. See installing WordPress and updates and security.
DNS and SSL
If your domain uses the NBT Host nameservers, you edit the DNS zone from Enhance: A, CNAME, MX or TXT records (the DNS zone editor). The Let's Encrypt SSL certificate is issued and renewed automatically; how to check it is covered in the SSL guide.
Backup
Daily backups of files, databases and email appear in the panel. You can restore a file, a database or a mailbox yourself, or download a copy of the website. The steps are in backup and restore.
Scheduled tasks
For scripts that need to run at set times — for example, a real cron for WordPress — there are cron jobs.
What isn't in the panel
On the hosting plans you don't have SSH access: everything a website needs is done from Enhance, over FTPS and from the WordPress manager. If you need root access or your own software, that's a VPS server, where Enhance is available as a separate license.
If you're coming from cPanel
The main difference is the order: in cPanel you open the tool and then choose the domain; in Enhance you choose the website and then the tool. You'll find what each familiar tool corresponds to in Enhance instead of cPanel. And if your website is currently in a cPanel account with another company, we'll move it for you, free of charge, under the conditions on that page.
All the step-by-step instructions are in the guides section.
