Reseller hosting gives you a large pool of resources that you split into separate accounts for your clients, with the control panel under your brand, while the hosting company looks after the servers, updates and licenses. It's for web agencies, freelancers and IT companies that build websites and want to host them too, billing their clients themselves. If you only have your own websites or those of a few people close to you, a plan with several websites in a single account is simpler and usually cheaper.
In short
- Reseller = a separate account for each client, each with its own limits and its own panel access.
- The brand is yours: clients log in to your panel, with your logo and your domain.
- The servers are the provider's: updates, security, backups, the panel license.
- The clients are yours: you sell to them, invoice them and answer them.
- It's not the same as one big account with many websites, nor as a VPS you manage yourself.
How it works
The provider gives you a reseller account with overall limits: how many websites, how much storage, how many clients, how many databases. From it:
- you create your packages for clients — for example “Start” with one website and 5 GB, “Business” with three websites and 20 GB;
- you create one account for each client, on one of the packages;
- the client logs in to their own panel, where they see only their own websites and email addresses;
- you set the prices you charge your clients and invoice them.
The provider doesn't step into your relationship with your clients: it answers to you, for the server and the panel.
“cPanel reseller” and its Enhance equivalent
Many people search for “cPanel reseller hosting” because the classic form of reselling is built on cPanel: the reseller works in WHM, where they set up their packages and accounts, and each client gets their own cPanel.
In Enhance, the same thing is done with organizations: you have the reseller organization, and each of your clients has their own organization, with the limits you give them and their own access. The logic is the same; the tools are arranged differently. If you're coming from cPanel, see cPanel, Plesk or Enhance.
Reseller, an account with many websites, or a VPS?
Three ways to host many websites, with different responsibilities:
| Account with many websites | Reseller | VPS | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Separate accounts for clients | No: a single account, yours | Yes | Only if you install and manage a panel |
| Panel with your brand | No | Yes | If you configure it yourself |
| Who manages the server | The provider | The provider | You |
| Root access | No | No | Yes |
| Best for | Your own websites | Agencies with clients | Technical teams |
At NBT Host, the “account with many websites” option is cloud hosting (30, 60 or 100 websites) or Bulk (unlimited websites, from 300 GB). The reseller option is NBT Partners. VPS is on the VPS servers page.
The practical difference between the first two: in an account with many websites, if a client wants panel access, they see the whole account, including everyone else's websites. With reseller hosting, each client sees only what's theirs.
What stays your responsibility
Reselling shifts part of the work to you. Before you start, factor in:
- sales and invoicing: you issue the invoices to your clients, at your prices;
- first-line support: clients write to you when their email isn't working or they've forgotten their password;
- paying the provider: if the payment for your package doesn't go through, all your clients are affected;
- the limits: the package has a total; you can't sell more than it holds.
What stays with the provider: the servers, their operating system and its updates, server security, backups and the panel license.
What to check before choosing a reseller package
- Do clients get truly separate accounts? Each with their own websites, mailboxes and databases, without seeing anyone else's.
- Can the panel carry your brand? Logo, colors, a domain such as
panel.your-agency.com, with a valid certificate. - Do you get nameservers with your name? It's not essential, but it helps with a consistent image.
- Is there an API? If you want to create accounts automatically, from your website or your billing app.
- What happens when a payment fails? How many days you have before suspension, and whether anything gets deleted.
- What about backups? How often they're made and who restores them.
- What limits the package has: websites, storage, clients, memory per website, databases.
What it looks like at NBT Partners
NBT Partners is NBT Host's reseller package, on the Enhance panel, with the license included in the price:
| Package | Per month | Websites | Clients | Where the websites run |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Partner 30 | €30 | up to 50 | 50 | our shared servers, 50 GB in total |
| Partner 50 | €50 | up to 100 | 100 | a VPS server included: 6 vCPU, 12 GB RAM, 200 GB SSD |
| Partner 100 | €100 | up to 250 | 250 | a VPS server included: 8 vCPU, 24 GB RAM, 300 GB SSD |
On every package: the panel with your brand, on your domain, nameservers with your name, unlimited email within your storage, and an API with a token on your organization. With Partner 50 and 100, the server is for your clients only, but updates, security and backups stay with us; you don't get root or SSH access.
What to know in advance: the packages are sold to companies only, billed monthly by card, and they don't come with the 30-day money-back guarantee that applies to hosting. If the payment doesn't come through within 7 days of the due date, the package is suspended together with your clients; nothing is deleted, and once you pay, everything starts up again within a few minutes. The full conditions are in the NBT Partners terms.
Frequently asked questions
Can I resell as an individual?
Not with NBT Partners: the packages are sold to companies only, and the invoice is issued to your company.
Do my clients see the NBT Host name?
Your clients log in to your panel, with your logo, colors and domain, and the panel's emails to them are sent from your address.
Can I have resellers of my own?
Not with NBT Partners. The package lets you have clients, not resellers under you.
Can I bring over the clients I currently have in a cPanel account?
Enhance can import a full cPanel account backup, with files, databases and email. The steps are in the guide importing a cPanel account.
When is a VPS better than a reseller package?
When you need root access, software that isn't a website, or a specific server configuration, and you have someone to manage it. How to choose one: how to choose a VPS.
